1 The 5-Step Calculation Method
Follow these five steps in order for every name you calculate. Click Reveal Next Step to work through them one by one.

Write the full name in CAPITALS
Use the name exactly as it appears on the birth certificate. Spaces are ignored — only letters count. Numbers, hyphens and apostrophes are ignored.

Assign a Chaldean number to each letter
Using the chart from Lesson 1, write the corresponding number beneath each letter. If you're unsure of a letter's value, look it up — never guess.

Total each word separately
Add up the numbers for the first name, middle name (if any), and surname individually. These sub-totals each carry their own meaning.

Combine sub-totals → Grand Total (Compound Number)
Add all word totals together. Write this compound number down — in Chaldean work it has its own interpretation before reduction.

Reduce to a single digit — except 11, 22, 33
Add the two digits of the compound number together. Keep reducing until you reach a single digit. Stop immediately if you land on 11, 22 or 33 — these are Master Numbers.
