Your yoni is an animal temperament, and you do not choose it: it comes from the nakshatra the Moon occupied when you were born. Twenty-seven nakshatras share fourteen animals between them, each animal usually holding one male nakshatra and one female, which is why two people can share a yoni and still differ.
Classical matching uses yoni to read the instinctive, physical layer of a partnership, the part that has little to do with values or conversation. It is one of the eight kutas of Ashtakoot, worth four points, and the seven enmity pairs below are where it deducts them.
Yoni is not BNN. Bhrigu Nandi Nadi reads a partnership through karakas, yutis and yatra timing, not through Ashtakoot points. Yoni is published here as classical reference. For the BNN view of a match, use BNN Match.

Cow yoni
| Sanskrit | Gau |
|---|---|
| Natural enemy | Tiger |
| Nakshatras | Uttara Phalguni, Uttara Bhadrapada |
Nature
Nurturing, patient and centred on home.
Giving and unhurried. The cow yoni is the most straightforwardly generous of the fourteen, and the most likely to give past its own capacity.
Temperament
Cow-yoni natives create stability around them. They feed people, remember birthdays, hold families together and rarely ask for anything back. Their patience is genuine rather than performed. The weakness is an inability to say no: they absorb other people's obligations until something gives, and they are slow to recognise when generosity is being exploited.
Strengths
- Deeply nurturing and dependable
- Creates calm, settled surroundings
- Patient far beyond the average
- Trusted by almost everyone
Cautions
- Gives to the point of self-neglect
- Slow to see when it is being used
- Resists change even when change is needed
- Suppresses its own needs until they surface as resentment
Pairing
Peaceful with almost every yoni. Hardest with Tiger, the classical predator pairing, where the cow feels permanently unsafe.
