Everything enters here first. The body you arrive in, the face people meet, the vitality you run on. Before a chart says anything about money or marriage, it says who is walking through the door.
How BNN reads this house
BNN does not ask what sign sits on the 1st house. Signs and houses are fixed: Aries is always the 1st, Taurus always the 2nd. What matters is which planet is standing in the room, because the same Mars in the 3rd is a brave communicator and in the 7th is a combative partner. A planet in the 1st colours the person themselves, not one department of their life.

Professor Stephen Hawking had Mars in its own sign and a debilitated retrograde Saturn together in the 1st house. Mars gave the body its fire to keep moving; the weakened, backward-running Saturn slowed the disease that should have ended him decades earlier. Both planets were in the body house, and both did their work on the body.
